Audacity
My go-to tool for recording my own voiceovers before bringing the audio into Clipchamp to finish the video.
Free, open-source audio recording and editing software.

Why we recommend it
I use Audacity to record my own voiceovers for videos. It’s part of a practical setup: my wireless lapel microphone captures my voice, Audacity handles the recording, and I bring the audio into Clipchamp to put it together with the video. For me, the value is being able to use my own voice and delivery in the content I create for my business and WhichVenture projects. My main practical tip is to make a short test recording first. Check that the microphone and receiver have power, and listen back before recording the full piece. It’s a small step that can save you repeating a whole take. You don’t need to master every feature to get started. My recommendation comes from using Audacity for this specific job: recording voiceovers as part of my video-making workflow.
