What happened

We created a lithium-ion battery safety awareness eLearning course using HeyGen to produce the presenter-led training videos and Enabley to structure the course, embed the videos, add assessment questions and manage completion. The finished course is around 40 minutes long, includes 20 questions, an 80% pass mark and a completion certificate. We then built a dedicated landing page, connected Stripe and tested paid search activity. The course has now generated three sales, proving that the end-to-end model works, although it is not yet commercially profitable. Around £65 was spent creating the presenter-led course content using HeyGen, with a further £159 spent on Google Ads testing between June and September 2026. The campaign generated 51 clicks at an average CPC of £3.12. Enabley was used to host and structure the course, including embedded video, assessments and completion tracking. In this test there was no direct Enabley cost, but a comparable paid setup would be around £40 per month. The course has generated three sales at £19.99 each, producing £59.97 in gross customer sales, equivalent to £49.98 excluding VAT before payment-processing fees.

Lessons learned

AI video tools such as HeyGen make it possible to create professional presenter-led training without the cost and logistics of filming a human presenter. Enabley then provides the course structure, assessments and learner management. The bigger challenge is commercial rather than technical: creating the product is relatively straightforward, but generating consistent traffic and converting that traffic into sales requires positioning, marketing and ongoing testing.

Current verdict

A credible scalable digital-product model, particularly for specialist training where there is a clear business need. AI significantly reduces production barriers, but it does not remove the need for subject knowledge, course design, credibility and effective marketing.
